Want a laugh?

They're doing an investigation regarding the bruises Joy has.

They took her to the ER, took our statements and removed her to a different foster home.

Just when she was starting to get used to us. Poor kid.

They have 60 days to decide if there's anything to blame us for. Then we'd have to go to court. Unless they clear us. Who the hell knows what they'll decide.

Everyone - our placement worker, our friends, other foster parents, everyone else at DSS who has met us - knows that we didn't hurt this baby. It doesn't matter. (and, yes, I understand and respect that they have to apply the same rules to everyone and investigate, but I get the impression that they could have de-escalated it early on in the process and chose not to.)

Well, I guess we know we won't be getting any new placements for the next 60 days, eh?

DSS is full of idiots. Each day that goes by, and every story that I read causes me to have less and less respect for the system, for social workers, and for the entire process itself.

I'm sorry.

You have got to be kidding me!!!! What a crock. I am so sorry you're going through this.

Maybe, for once, the system will move quickly, and you won't be closed for 60 days.

I stumbled upon your blog yesterday and popped back today to find out this depressing news. I am very sorry.

I just don't know what to say.

Dang! I was just catching up with you and read from the bottom up to end up with THIS NEWS - OMG how awful. F-ed up, horrible, unimaginable. You did something gracious in taking this child on a temporary basis (I sensed the workers know more to the story than they are letting on - like past with biomom they are not telling you...but then again, I am paranoid). But bruises - geez, give me a break. I will be praying over the situation, and this baby - this is all so very wrong.
